Domain Name Acquisition Company

About Tripod UK Ltd

Tripod UK Ltd, started life in 2003 as a domain name brokerage, after understanding the lucrative market of domain name investment we began to invest ourselves in domain names. Whilst there was nothing wrong with some of the domains that we invested in, (see domain law) we soon found that many genuine business owners were being prevented from owning domains relevant to their own websites due to the high value of domains.

Whilst "domain speculation" is a business like any other, whereby many domain investors pay high prices in auctions and from other investors. We noticed that many businesses were being effected by this industry.

Being a moral and ethical company we decided to look for a way that we could use our knowledge of the industry, along with our skills software and systems, to compete against the speculation market and act on behalf of the businesses out there that have a genuine and immediate need for the domains.

In 2005 we stopped speculating in domain names ourselves and set out to contact owners of "expiring domains", and surrounding "domain extensions" of the dot com, in order to let them know that the dot com was about to be released to the general public, (which also includes the domain speculators)

Upon instruction from interested parties we then proceed to attempt to capture the domains before any speculators.

We have reunited many domain owners with their domains that they had accidentally lost, (see Why do people loose their domain)

We have also acquired domains for many owners of other domain extensions that have been trying to acquire the domain for years.

Why Tripod UK?

We were actually inspired to use the name long before the company started trading in this field.

The first idea leading to the use of this name came from the concept that Tripod represented the trinity; being a Christian company that is fully committed to building God’s Kingdom we felt this was fitting.

The second idea represents the vision statement itself.
